Recently we received a note from the wonderful artist Judith Schaechter, fundraising to make and install ten new Windows in ten cells stained glass in the Eastern State prison. Judith makes beautiful stained glass on issues with modern social meaning — loneliness, our culture, the conflict between the role of women in our society (object sex, Goddess, whipping girl). Long has wanted to do a project in the old prison, and we think the work is a perfect match for the site. Judith needs funds to do the work for installation in prison. Because this is one of the UNITED STATES artists, select team, mentored by that organisation, this fundraising at their website – in a kind way, Kickstarter where people can choose a level of support — in the case of Judith from $ 40 to $ 1,000 — reserve money, and receive a small gift from the artist in thanks.
